Zeiss 7x50 Kriegsmarine binoculars 'M.A.Z.a.'
An exceptionally rare pair of early-war Kriegsmarine binoculars that were issued to the 'M.A.Z.a' (Marine Artillerie Zeugamt).
Remaining exactly as they were found, this pair is very nicely inscribed with the Carl Zeiss Jena maker's logo; as well as the original KM property markings still being completely intact. The 'T' designation for coated lenses is also present.
They are finished in the very rarely encountered coarse textured black finish - which is only seen a small serial block range of Zeiss production!
Remarkably, unlike many of the few surviving examples, this particular set still retains the correct housings for the rubber ocular surrounds; as designed for use with a gas mask. These remain fully extendable on both sides, as shown.
As to be expected with quality Zeiss binoculars such as these the optics still remain in good, clear and useable order to this day - with original coated lenses.
In well over a decade of collecting optics now, this is only the second pair of these highly elusive 'M.A.Z.a' issued binoculars that we have ever had to offer!
A pair that are surely not to be missed for any serious collector of Kriegsmarine related equipment items and/or optics!
