A superb, as found, original mid-war steel Patronenkasten 41 ammo can for the MG34/42 finished in a winter camouflage overpaint.
Numerous paint layers can be seen beneath, including parts of the factory applied field grey and red oxide primer. The white overpaint has discoloured somewhat due to age and, as opposed to the removable whitewash examples, can be said to be very much alike with those pieces of equipment and helmets that originate from Norway etc.
All of the handles still retain their original leather covers, as shown.
