A very nice original example of an enamelled cap badge with antler (on shield) emblem for the 24th U-boat flotilla. The symbol was also chosen to be the tradition emblem displayed upon U-boat number U-748.
This example remains in great condition and is very nicely maker marked 'H. Schmidt, Lüdenscheid' to the reverse.
