Two-tone camouflage MG34/42 ammo box

A truly superb mid to late-war variant of the later steel Patronenkasten 41 ammo box in a very appealing two-tone camo scheme! 
 
It is a box which clearly started out life in the standard factory-applied Dunkelgelb paint finish, which is retained internally. It was then clearly overpainted in a lighter tan base layer; before a deep green spray camo finish was finally applied over the top. All very reminiscent of that utilised by specific units such as FJR6 etc and more widely on the mediterranean front.
 
It remains exactly as found, with fully functional closure lock. The top handle has sustained damage to one side, as shown, but remains attached and fully operational as well. 
 
One of the best camouflaged MG tins that we have ever encountered and in one of the most desirable schemes!
