KNIGHTS CROSS recipient M38 gas mask set 'Oberst Warnecke'

£0.00Price

A truly superb M38 gas mask set which was once the possession of Oberst Friedrich Warnecke who was a recipient of the Knights Cross (Ritterkreuz) when awarded during January 1943.

The gas mask is a 1939 dated example and comes complete with the tall variant of canister which retains its original straps, spring, cloth and spare lenses.

Both the mask and the canister are clearly numbered 1 - signifying issue to the highest ranking Officer within a unit, given that they were first in line to receive equipment and uniforms etc issued from the Zeugmeister

Given that the gasmask and its canister both remain in near mint condition, it's certainly logical to assume the item was stored within regimental HQ or the staff car etc.

A wonderful opportunity to obtain not only a top example item of its type, but one which was issued to a recipient of the Knights Cross award!
