A very nice original Kriegsmarine issue gas mask canister, named to a "H. Fickel" and feldpost numbered 'M 61199' for the 17. U-Bootsjagdflottille - and more specifically to the ship UJ 1717 "Este".
Remains of the KM shipboard grey colour are still visible beneath the green overpaint/camouflage layer, with the canister being marked 'gbv 1942' to the inner lens compartment lid.
