An exceptionally nice and rare late-war canvas magazine pouch for the MP38/40 submachine gun, presented in excellent, mint/unissued condition.
The particular pouch is constructed two-tone green/olive canvas, with chocolate brown leather fittings, and is maker coded/dated 'jhg 4' - indicating manufacture by Gustav Genschow u. Co., AG, Lederwarenfabriken, Alstadt-Hachenburg, in 1944 (the last year of production).
The rear 'MP38 u. MP40' white ink stamp and original factory grey paint to the D-ring are testament to the condition.
Certainly the best example we have ever had, and one which would prove near impossible to upgrade upon!
