A rare original Laufschutzer 42 model spare barrel case, designed exclusively for the shorter MG42 barrel!
This example is presented in good used condition, with much of the original factory tan paint remaining intact. It has been fitted with a makeshift canvas shoulder sling, similar to a breadbag strap, with tan coloured Ersatz material tabs at some stage.
The case is marked to one end with the maker code and date 'bpr 1943' to indicate production by Johannes Grossfuss, Metall- u. Locierwarenfabrik, Doebeln, Saxony.
A scarce original accessory which would nicely accompany any MG42 or related equipment collection!
