MG34 Laufschützer 34 barrel case 'W.F. & Co 1936'

An extremely rare pre-war first model Laufschützer 34 spare barrel case for the MG34. The case is marked to one end with the maker logo of 'W.F. & Co.', indicating production by Fr. Weber & Co. Laternenfabrik, Berlin - in 1936, which is the earliest production date for this accessory which is known to exist today!
 
In addition, the main locking catch has also been stamped with the serial number of the MG34 (5922) with which this case was issued. 
 
The case is still fitted with its canvas shoulder strap, and both the interior and exterior have received a dark green reissue overpaint at some point in time. Internally, all four of the barrel rests and the hold-open latch are still present and functional.
 
A very scarce variant of the MG34 barrel carrier and surely a must-have piece for any serious MG collection!
