MG34/42 aluminium ammo box '743 1939'

A very nice early lightweight aluminium Patronenkasten 34 ammo can for the MG34/42. This example retains 90%+ of the original grey-green factory paint, with the typical red oxide primer also visible beneath in some areas. Rather unusually for such an early example, all of the leather handle covers remain intact, and the closure mechanism/hinges are still fully operational.
 
The box is clearly Waffenamt marked and designated '743/1939' to the lid, denoting manufacture by Schaltbau Gmbh, Elektrotechnische Bedarfsartikel-Fabrik München, in 1939. A superb early MG accessory!
