MG34/42 MGZ40 Lafette optic 'ddx'

A very nice late-war, boxed example of the MGZ40 model optic as used in conjunction with the MG34/42 when fitted to the heavy Lafette tripod.
 
This particular set retains the original tan paint throughout, with the optic maker coded 'ddx' to indicate manufacture by Voigtlander. 
 
Aside from some minor debris, the view through the scope remains clear and still retains the V-shaped aiming reticule. The optical view is however canted somewhat and so this may require adjustment to level if needed. 
 
All adjustment dials function as they should and the rubber eyecup is also original, unlike most which are missing or replaced. 
 
The box retains the 'MGZ40' model designation and Waffenamt markings to the exterior, as well as both of the canvas belt loops and tabs. As is often the case, the internal fittings are absent. 
 
Overall, this represents very nice set which would certainly complement an MG34/42 Lafette display very well indeed!
