A very nice, combat used example of the archetypal mid to late-war Heer M42 non-decal steel helmet.
The shell is maker coded and size marked 'NS 62' to indicate production by Vereinigte Deutsche Nikelwerke, Schwerte, with much of the original factory-applied grey/blue paint still intact throughout. Note that the paint still retains the correct flat matt finish and has clearly not suffered from excessive collector handling etc since the war.
The helmet also comes complete with its original factory-fitted leather liner and liner drawstring. An ink dome stamp is also clearly visible to the inside of the shell, as shown.
A good, honest original example of a combat worn M42 helmet which is only getting harder to find!
