A very nice, early-war M31 canteen maker coded 'RFI 4' (but presumed '41', due to a mis-stamped marking!) to indicate manufacture by Rudolf Fissler KG, Idar-Oberstein.
This example is also fitted with a dark brown speckled Bakelite cup, marked to the top side as shown, and the original felt cover/pebbled black leather strap assembly.
