A good, honest combat used example of the M31 canteen which was originally obtained from a US veteran estate.
The bottle itself is clearly maker code and date marked 'DMN 40', which the green painted aluminium cup is marked 'MN 40'.
Note also the owner / unit markings that have been lightly inscribed into the top surface of the cup.
A nice, untouched date matching set in good combat used condition!
