A very nice earlry M31 mess kit (Kochgeschirr) made from aluminium and painted green.
This particular example retains the vast majority of the external paint and is matching maker coded 'FWBN' (1938/39) to both the base and the lid, indicating manufacture by F.W. Brockelmann Aluminiumwerk GmbH KG, Neheim/Ruhr.
The strap is also included and is in similarly good condition. This piece is clearly maker marked 'E. Melzig, Liegnitz 1939', as shown.
