Luftwaffe provenance: Bakelite head torch + Ju87B relics

£0.00Price

A scarce original Bakelite head torch set which remains in good original condition, complete with the elastic strap, cable and battery box. The piece is dated 1940.

Also included with the set are some relics, which along with the head torch, are purported to been salvagedfrom a Ju87B that crash landed on Ham Manor Golf Club on the 18th August 1940.

The aircraft was from the Luftwaffe unit 2 Gruppe - Stukageschwader 77 - 5 Staffel and bore the markings "Wk Nr. 5167".

The crew were Pilot Oberfeldwebel Kurt Schweinhardt, who was taken prisoner, and Wireless Operator Oberfeldwebel Willi Geiger, who was to die of his wounds.

Whilst guarded during the day, the plane was left unattended overnight and by morning had been looted by locals - by whom this small group of items was apparently obtained.

A wonderful group with known history and use during the Battle of Britain!
