Late flip-top Zeiss 7x50 U-boat binoculars 'blc'

£0.00Price

An exceedingly rare and nigh on mint pair of late-war Kriegsmarine U-boat binoculars produced by Carl Zeiss Jena under the 'blc' maker code - finished in the typical KM shade of yellow/green, and retaining 99%+ of the original paint finish!

This pair was an ex-US Veteran estate item, before comprising part of our own personal KM U-boat optics collection in the years since.

The lower rubbers are reproduction placeholders fitted for display purposes - added to complete this pair in line with them likely being fitted with lower rubbers previously. These can be easily removed on and off, and indeed replaced with original examples if you should have some available as spares.

Most notably, however, is that this is a variant from one of the last batches where the top rubber armour surrounds were sporadically discontinued as part of the production line at the Zeiss factory - in favour of the 'flip-top' eye pieces which are more commonly associated with late-war 'rln' coded examples.

During our time specifically focussing on such armoured Zeiss 7x50 U-boat optics, we have only ever seen this late-war feature on a few surviving examples worldwide - and despite a small break in one eyecup, this particular example is almost certain to be the very best survivor of this exceptionally rare variant around!

As to be expected with quality Zeiss binoculars, and given the fact this pair has been stored so well/seen very little usage, the optics still remain in extremely good condition - producing a super clear, sharp and useable image.

There is no damage to any of the lenses and lens coatings also remain intact. An excellent binocular!
