Kriegsmarine issue Radom P35(p) bringback group
A remarkable veteran 'bringback' lot and one which is now offered here publicly to the collector's market for the very first time!
A superb UK deactivated P35(p) Radom which comes with the entire group of items shown - exactly as it was discovered by the veteran's family during a house clearance in 2015.
It is a very early so-called "pre alpha" prefix variant, with original high polish blued finish and was part of an initial production run of P35(p) sidearms for Kriegsmarine naval forces.
The pistol itself retains full matching numbers, and a variation of checked wooden grips which have subsequently been traced to Kriegsmarine installations located on the Channel Islands.
Only the 482nd example made. Radom number '204' is known to exist today from known serial records, yet that example was not stamped with the German model code for the pistol of "P35 (p)" - making this is one of the very earliest German designated Radoms to have been produced.
The Radom itself was captured with its holster in occupied France, by George W. Abbott (JX377069) who was at that time the gunner aboard Royal Navy Motor Gun Boat number 57. Notably, as part of his naval service he was also to take part aboard M.G.B. 57 during the ill-fated raid on Dieppe during 1942!
As part of the lot, the items include G. W. Abbott's own personal black steel hat storage tin, as well as his service manuals, naval identification booklet and other miscellaneous pieces as can be seen in the photos.
The leather 'bnz' P35(p) marked holster and the 4x card boxes of WW2 German 9mm rounds are the ones that were captured along with the pistol when G.W.A. originally acquired it - with the rounds having only been discarded at the time of its rediscovery in 2015.
The group has previously been published within "The Armourer" magazine and came to us directly from the family of G. W. Abbott in 2015 after inspection & deactivation.
A truly incredible example of the highly sought after Radom alone, but by far an even more unique opportunity to find as part of a group with provenance and indeed further research potential!
