A scarce example of the highly sought after Bakelite 'Benutzer' ocular rain cover - as originally fitted to various models of 7x50 & 8x60 Kriegsmarine / U-boat binoculars.
This one also still comes fitted with its original long length rubber cord - as it was once fitted to a larger 8x60 'slim' binocular - but this could be removed if desired to accommodate other variants with a replacement cord.
Note that this is a guaranteed original period piece and is NOT one of the variety of modern, poor quality reproductions.
