2nd pattern Klappspaten set 'dlu 1941'

A very nice example of the German folding entrenching shovel which is still held within its 2nd pattern Presstoff & leather cover. Indeed, this example likely represents one of the first of this type which was produced, given that it is dated 1941. The cover is clearly maker coded 'DLU' to the rear for Ewald Luenenschloss, Militaereffekten Fabrik and Waffenamt stamped. A great piece of frontline combat equipment!
