Deactivated pre-war MG34 'BSW 1937'
Very much a "holy grail" example when it comes to the iconic German MG34 - one of the very earliest surviving MG34s located anywhere in the world - and one which incredibly still remains complete with near full matching numbers!
It is neatly maker coded 'BSW' for Berlin-Suhler Waffen-und Fahrzeuwerke - which later became amalgamated with the Gustloff-Werke factory and latterly switched to the '936' & 'dfb' maker codes - and dated 1937 (with a no-suffix serial number, being from the very first batch during that year).
Indeed, such is the early era of production of this MG34 that it is presented with an unbelievable number of Waffenamt (WaA4) proof markings stamped throughout - notably, most of which are of the very early 'thin-wing' Weimar style eagle variant, which were swiftly discontinued even during the midst of this first production run!
Additional correct early pre-production features include the distinctive 'four-hole' perforated air-cooled barrel jacket, fully machined top cover, stubby bipod attachment stud and the pistol grip with integral Regler rate of fire adjustment button etc.
The main external components still all retain factory-applied matching serial numbers (even inclusive of the top cover and pistol grip etc) aside from only the wooden stock / buffer assembly, as shown - quite astounding on such an early example that would go on to see out the whole pre-war and successive wartime period...
Now for a statement which we would not make lightly - in that this surely represents just about the very best example of a deactivated MG34 that anyone could wish to find, and a truly unique opportunity is on offer here to add such an incredible piece to your own collection!
