Deactivated Mauser G98 '1916'

A WWI German Gewehr 98 service rifle that remains exactly as it was picked up from the battlefield and has not been post-war refurbished in any way whatsoever - retaining the full original wartime finish throughout. burr walnut stock included, with no re-stamping or sanding at all etc. 
 
This particular example was manufactured by the renowned Waffenfabrik-Mauser, Oberndorf, during 1916.
 
This rifle even still retains almost 100% full matching serial numbered parts - including the receiver, barrel, full rear sight assembly, magazine follower, baseplate, rear & front barrel bands, and even the small screws! Indeed only the safety catch has been clearly period field replaced with another. Very seldom seen to find in such an untouched state.  
 
A superb and truly honest example of this iconic rifle that was the mainstay of German forces during WWI. 
 
This item comes complete with its deactivation certificate.
