DAK Heer POW tropical tunic 'RBNr'
A wonderful example of a DAK Heer issue tropical tunic which was clearly the possession of a solider who became a prisoner of war (POW).
This example shows signs of the removal of the breast eagle and rank patch to the left sleeve, yet still retains the collar litzen and all of the original buttons.
Internally it is size and also RBNr code marked, as shown. The allied 'PW' tag has been applied in black paint to both the reverse and also with a letter to each arm.
A brilliant site surrounding life for such DAK POWs in the USA is linked below, notably containing images with such markings emblazoned over the German tropical uniforms:

A highly evocative and truly honest example of a combat used and subsequently captured POW uniform that has not been messed with in any way!
