A wonderful example of the mid to late-war period 'Patronenkasten 900' wooden ammo box, which remains in very good fully original condition.
Due to partial remains of the labels, it is possible to determine that this box once held 7.92x57mm 'S.m.E.' ball rounds for use specifically with the MG34/42.
Interestingly this is an example which has received an overpaint using a grass-green shade finish for camouflage purposes!
It would prove very difficult to upgrade on this fine combat used example, with both of the rope carrying handles remaining intact and no damage caused by woodworm etc.
