A super original early pre-war Petroleum-kasten (P-kasten) tin for the MG34/42 dated 1938.
This P-kasten, repurposed from a lightweight aluminium ammunition can, still retains much of the original Reichswehr pattern camouflage finish - with additional markings applied over the top to denote its use for the storage of MG oil cans.
The box can still be opened and closed correctly. Only the top handle is seized at present.
A wonderful, honest MG box that displays very well with the original early camo finish and additional symbols!
