This manufacture of this particular variation of enamel mess kit is attributed to the 'Deutsche Emailwarenfabrik' (DEF) - operated by Oskar Schindler - and so this piece can be considered as an extra special example on this historic basis alone.
A great item for any collector of German fieldgear and personal equipment!
