Deactivated Gebirgsjäger G33/40 carbine 'dot 1942'
A very rare find in the UK in any guise - but even more so in full original, totally untouched wartime condition like this! Not refinished or modified post-war by the Norway, or others, as per most of the very few examples located here have been.
A WWII era German G33/40 carbine. A rifle that was first adopted in late 1940, specifically for issue to the German mountain troops (Gebirgsjäger), before production ceased in 1942.
It is both shorter and lighter than the standard K98k, along with sporting numeorus other unqiue features. Inclusive of a hollowed out bolt handle, to further reduce weight; plus a special wooden stock, with wrap-around buttplate to allow it to be used as a climbing aid in the mountains without sustaining damage from boots/cleats. Even the sight hood is unique, and still present and correct!
This particular example is nicely maker code and date marked 'dot 1942' - making this amongst one of the last to be manufactured! Unlike during K98k production, most parts were never serial numbered at all on a G33/40, but yet this rifle still retains its matching number marked receiver and wooden stock!
This G33/40 is one of only a few known examples in the UK - and possibly the only fully original, non post-war modified/refurbished condition example around!
Deactivated with full moving/cycling bolt and trigger to the latest EU/UK proof house deactivation; complete with its certificate.
*N.B. Proof of age (18+) will also be required before purchase. Collection or shipping only within the mainland UK.
